Losing weight is not the only point of exercise. It is actually much more important than that. Exercising regularly is important because exercise:
- increases energy levels
- improves muscle strength
- helps maintain a healthy weight
- enhances immune system
- stimulates the release of endorphins so it makes you feel better and relaxed
- reduces stress levels
- increases flexibility
Exercise does not mean just playing sports. There are many other ways to exercise, many of which you can do at home. The four different types of exercises are:
- Aerobic – increase heart rate
- running, swimming, dancing
- Strength – work muscles by using resistance
- Weight lifting, bodyweight exercises
- Balance – improve ability to control and stabilize body’s position
- Flexibility – stretch muscles and improve range of motion
Ideally, you should try to incorporate some if not all of these types of workouts into your exercise routine. A good way to do this is by focusing on strength training 3 days a week and doing cardio for 1-2 days. However, this can vary depending on your specific goal.
Overall, it’s important to incorporate exercising into your daily routine. You will find that including these activities into your busy week will not only lead to boosting your physical health but also your emotional well-being.
